Just a quick note: Crave is cancelled on Monday, February 21, 2011 due to the Snow Day in Bloomfield Hills Schools. We will see you next week for a special worship night with Matt Kunkel! Enjoy the snow!
Now that Kalahari has come and gone it’s time to let you know what else we’ve got in store over the coming months.
Up first is the Winter Jam concert on March 31. We’re heading down to Ypsilanti for some a handful of great Christian concerts. KJ-52 (Kevin’s favorite band), Newsboys, Kutless and more will be on hand. And the best part is that it’s only $10! Head over to our Upcoming Events page for more info.
College Ready is a brand new class I’m really excited for. This 6-week series is for High School Seniors and their parents. We’ll be diving into a variety of topics to help prepare you for college next fall. We’ll meet for 1 hour on Sunday mornings. For more info click on the College Ready tab at the top of the screen.
We’re also ready to unwrap the first of 2 great summer trips we’re planning. On June 23 – 26 we’re heading to Ionia, MI for 3 days of music with 110 bands playing on 7 stages! This great summer trip is one that we hope you and your friends will join us on. Be sure to download the flyer from the Big Ticket Festival page to sign up and hold your spot!
Happy New Year everyone! 2010 was a great year in the HSM and our plan is to make 2011 even better. It was just about a year ago that we started Crave with just a few students and over the year so many of you have joined us!
In 2011 my hope is that you guys will take up the challenge to grow in your faith not just at church but on your own as well. One of the things I love to do is use youversion.com to go through Bible reading plans. Last year I completed one that read through the Old Testament once and New Testament twice. This year I’m doing a new one that does a great job of breaking things up by reading some Old, some New, and a little Psalm or Proverbs each day. Maybe you should consider signing up for an account over at youversion.com and doing your own Reading Plan. There are a ton on the sight, and with iPhone and Android aps it’s even easier to stay up to date on your reading.
I hope that our ministry can be a blessing to you in this New Year and remember if there is anything we can do for you to just let us know. We’re here to give you guidance, assistance, prayer support and anything else you might need. So stop by on Monday nights, sign up for a retreat, bring some friends along and enjoy everything that we’ve got in store for you!
Important Notice – There will be no Crave tonight, December 13. Class is cancelled due to Bloomfield Hills Schools issuing a snow day. We will meet next week at Dirk’s house for our Christmas party. More info on the party will be posted over the next few days. Enjoy your Snow Day!
The Winter Retreat is coming up sooner than you think and spaces are going quick! If you haven’t signed up yet be sure to download a flyer, fill it out, and turn it in as soon as possible to reserve your spot. It’s also a huge advantage to us if you sign up earlier than later so that we can make sure to have enough space to accommodate you and all your friends!
With school just around the corner you’re probably figuring out all your plans and making arrangements for the next year. Well, we’ve got all our stuff figured out as well and wanted to get it into everyone’s hands as quick as possible. So go ahead and take a look at all the updates we’ve made to the site and get ready for a great year!
- Crave - We’ve updated our teaching schedule and couldn’t be more excited about this years class. We’re starting off with a bang at our “LGLO” series and caring it on with one I’m super excited about called “5 Ways to be Awesome”!
- Kalahari - We let you vote for your big Winter Retreat and Kalahari won by a landslide. We’ll be spending 3 days at the nation’s largest indoor water park where we will have awesome teachings, great tournaments, and of course tons of time surfing the flo-rider, facing the waves in the wave pool, and getting flushed down the toilet bowl slide.
- Summer 2011 – We know that next summer is a long way off but we wanted to give you the opportunity to vote for what you wanted to do and give you plenty of time to save up for the trip! Head over, read through the different options and vote for your favorite. Voting will end on September 24.
- Upcoming Events – Not only are we going to Cedar Point on September 25th but we’ve got one killer Christmas Party planned for December 3rd. Head over to the Upcoming Events page for all the info!
Here are a few pictures from our recent trip to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes.
These are some of the photos that were taken with Pat’s camera while at Camp Matz.
